I am working on a personal tabletop roleplaying game system to GM and play with friends that is based on the Pact/Pale universe. Ideally I would like to get it up and running this year, but there is a LOT of work to do on it.
If the system runs well I will likely open it up for free. I plan to bet YES in this market to incentivize myself, and I will never bet NO.
Resolves NO if at the end of the year I have not finished the system and ran the game for my friends. If I do make and run the game successfully I will immediately resolve the market YES.
As far as using this as a motivation tool, results were mixed.
Early on this maybe added some slight additional motivation, but then I simply forgot about the market! Even without this market I suspect the result would have been the same. I think smaller time scales may be very important for meaningful motivation markets.
I bet yes. For 2 reasons. 1 good luck. I hope you succeed.
Your task is as easy or as hard as you choose to make it. I have done what you are starting. My own system. My own lore. My own character generation method. All very different from anything else out there. Very little of it is written down. Or let me say instead, bits and pieces are scattered across a half dozen different note books character sheets and emails. It would be a tonne of work to get something that could be published. Even self published. But I ran it successfully. 4 or 5 sessions. Finished my story. It was fun.
Get something playable. Don't make it too complicated. Leap joyfully into the abyss!
Good luck.
