I will bet on certain books BEFORE starting them, and will NA anything I have already read or that I don't finish before the close date.

I like gripping plots/narratives in both fiction and non fiction. I generally don't love intense magical realism and hard sci fi but like softer versions of them or can enjoy them given the right author/concept/setting. Outside of literature I enjoy basketball, programming/data analysis, history and am interested in philosophy/effective altruism.

Didn't like:

Neuromancer - maybe I wasn't in the right frame of mind but couldn't get into this

Solenoid by Cartarescu - a huge slog

Libra by Don DeLillo - a bit too convoluted and repetitive for me to enjoy

On the Calculation of Volume 1 - maybe I need to give the others a go but this was quite dull and didn't seem to do much interesting with the time concept
