Background
XRP is a digital asset native to the XRP Ledger (XRPL), an open-source, permissionless, and decentralized blockchain technology launched in 2012. The company Ripple (formerly OpenCoin), co-founded by David Schwartz, Jed McCaleb, and Arthur Britto, developed the XRP Ledger with the aim of facilitating fast, low-cost, and scalable cross-border transactions. XRP is used to enable real-time global payments and is designed to be a more energy-efficient alternative to some other cryptocurrencies. Ripple's suite of financial products and services has been utilized by various financial institutions.
Considerations
The cryptocurrency market, including XRP, is known for its significant price volatility. XRP's price has experienced fluctuations, including a sharp intraday collapse in October 2025. Traders should be aware that while the specified resolution source is standard, minor price discrepancies can exist across different exchanges and data providers due to varying liquidity and market dynamics. The resolution will strictly adhere to the designated CoinMarketCap price at the exact UTC timestamp.
