Will WA HB-1026 (Cops can't lie during interrogations) be implemented in significant part?

This market resolves yes if HB-1062, titled "Concerning deception by law enforcement officers during custodial interrogations" passes through the WA house, senate, and executive successfully and in a way that I believe respects it's original intent (making evidence gathered by police inadmissible if the person/suspect was both in custody and lied to). If the bill is passed, but the implementation of it take a period of time (e.g. it only takes effect starting 2026), I will still resolve this yes.

I will not bet in this market.

I am not wildly familiar with WA governmental procedures so if something above seems off feel free to comment. The intent of this question is to determine if legislative action during this session will concretely start the process of preventing cops from lying to those in their custody.

It feels bad to bet “no” on this, as I really want reform, but I do not believe it’s likely.

@suzumebatchi I get it.

Some ways to make it easier are: You can think of betting no here both as hedging (e.g. in worlds you don't get this, at least you get fake internet points to make up for it), and as letting people know if they want this to happen it is likely to take more work than the amount you currently expect people to put in.
