I run a quant trading bootcamp. The next one will be August 19-22 at Lighthaven in Berkeley, California. The cost to attend for the nth slot is 850*1.05^(n-1), meaning the first signup pays $850, the second pays 850*(1.05^1) = $892.5, the tenth pays 850*(1.05^9) = $1318.63, et cetera.

This question resolves to how many students end up paying for the course (if somebody pays and then drops out later or doesn't show up, they still count, even if I benevolently reimburse them part or all of the cost).

If the number ends up being greater than 50, the market will settle 50.
