Resolution criteria
This resolves based on my choreographed dance performances at wedding-related events I attend before market close (ceremony, reception, sangeet/cocktail events). Casual/social dancing with no fixed choreography is excluded.
“Miss a step” means any of:
Performing the wrong move or sequence for ≥2 beats, or skipping a planned move.
Falling out of sync with my group/partner by ≥2 beats due to my error.
Stopping or freezing for ≥1 full measure (4 counts in 4/4) due to my error.
Minor styling differences, recoveries within 1 beat, or intentional improvisations agreed pre-show do not count.
Partner/music/tech issues don’t count unless I also miss by the above definition.
Resolution: YES if at least one miss occurs in any qualifying performance; NO if zero misses across all qualifying performances; N/A if I perform no qualifying dances before market close.
Evidence: I will resolve based on my post-event review (videos if available) and note timestamps/brief rationale in the comments.
Background
“Wedding events” includes any scheduled performance tied to a wedding (e.g., reception routine or sangeet group number). These typically have fixed choreography and counts, making misses objectively checkable on video.
Considerations
If choreography changes day-of, I’ll judge against the final version communicated in the last rehearsal or run-through.
If footwear, floor, or costume malfunctions occur, they only count if they cause me to meet the miss thresholds above.
