PLEASE READ FULL DESCRIPTION PROPERLY.
Adaptive charging ( which prevents the battery from charging itself over 80% on overnight charging ) is said to be one feature that will protect the battery from aging faster. But Google pixel phones have this almost inexplicably braindead restriction, that someone cannot use that feature if they are charging the phone outside of the 9pm to 4am time bracket, they have decided. The only way to use adaptive charging currently is to allow google to learn our behaviour, and hope it gets it right, and also hope our sleep schedule doesnt change much, since no configuration is possible, even within their restricted time-period.
Will google realize the restrictions are arbitrary and allow us to configure it ourselves before end of 2024 ?
I understand there are multiple problems here. So if google corrects any of these following problems partially, it will resolve in percentages.
Getting rid of the time limit ( 9pm to 4am ) - 25%
Allowing users to configure the schedule, instead of saying "trust me brov" - 75%
Also, even if someone convinces that this is somehow not arbitrary, and google galaxy brain has decided it for my own good, I will not resolve it to NO immediately, and will wait until the end of 2024 or until google actually patches the said things.
That being said, I would love to know if there is any rationale behind the decision.
