Resolution Criteria
This market resolves based on the outcomes of the four-test series between the Black Caps and Australia in the 2026-27 summer, with matches in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney.
Australia win: Australia wins more Tests than New Zealand in the series (3-1, 4-0, or 3-0)
Draw: The series ends with equal Test wins (2-2)
Whitewash: One team wins all four Tests (4-0)
Someone retires at the end of the series: Any player from either team announces retirement after the final Test concludes
Resolution will be verified through official Cricket Australia and New Zealand Cricket announcements, and ESPNcricinfo or official cricket.com.au records for match results and player retirement statements.
Background
Australia currently hold the Trans-Tasman Trophy following their 2–0 series win in the 2023–24 series. New Zealand last won a test on Australian soil in 2011 but have lost seven of their last eight tests there since. New Zealand's last four-match series was the 2-1 victory over England in 1999, making this a rare extended format for the Black Caps.
Considerations
A "whitewash" outcome (4-0) is possible for either team but historically uncommon in this rivalry. Note that "Australia win" and "Whitewash" are not mutually exclusive—if Australia wins 4-0, both outcomes resolve yes. The "Someone retires" outcome is independent and can resolve yes alongside any series result.
