Will resolve when the currency is officially announced and available to the community on this website. Not in the source code, dev, or in the secret group text chain (discord). It needs to be live and I need to have some or be able to get some. If the name changes after launch, the original resolution will stand. Answers submitted count in their singular/plural forms. If it is called "Peppercorns" you better believe that "Peppercorn" will resolve to yes. Everything else will resolve to no. If it is called "SpicyMana" or "SpiceCare" then "Spice" will unfortunately resolve to no. We can push the boundaries a little bit, but not too much. In the off-chance there is some crazy twist we'll take it to a poll. 🀝

bought αΉ€20 Pepperoni πŸ• YES

It's not going to be pepperoni, but I have to dream πŸ•

bought αΉ€10 Pepperoni πŸ• NO

@TonyPepperoni if it's implemented you can literally claim your name is money

if it's never launched, will that NA or NO all the naming options?

@GazDownright NO as appropriate

If still open to suggestions...

Health.

In videogames, you often have two pools: health and mana. Mana is always blue, and Manifold's current blue theme is surely a nod towards that.

So, embrace it further. Health and Mana. Use some red theming when we're doing something health (cash) related, and blue for play money.

Created a poll to gauge opinions for those interested: /Nat/what-should-the-new-manifold-curren

name isn't final btw. was Win Points in the draft announcement. I personally think that sounds dumb. Steven likes the W M symmetry though

@Sinclair whoops :)

@Sinclair i like the symbol symmetry too (quite a lot, actually!) but "Win Points" is pretty bad. Could call the currency a "Winning" (plural: winnings) and yes in certain circumstances it could be a touch confusing but ... still better than "Win Points"

Edit: or "Wenning" to keep the pun and avoid some confusion.

sold αΉ€11 Prize Points YES

Why is this multi choice independent?

@MartinRandall why should it sum to 100%?

@AnT if it's "all the things it has ever been called" then some options should already be resolved yes. So I'm guessing it is the thing it is called on market close. I don't really understand this market.

@MartinRandall It’s called I hit the wrong button when I created the market. Honestly what difference does it make. You can go independently adjust each percentage if it bothers you that much. And what if there is an instance that it is called more than one thing? Why limit yourself? I’m sick of people complaining about things. Just don’t participate and move on.

@Predictor I wasn't trying to complain, I was trying to understand how this market will resolve so I can have a better chance of winning. I'm sorry you felt criticized.

It's already called "spice" in the source code and in the "mana supply" section of the stats page. Is that enough to resolve "spice" to yes?

bought αΉ€20 Pi NO

@MartinRandall And prize points in the FAQ, and WinPoints in the dialog window commented recently

@MartinRandall it looks like a complaint to me, but regardless complaints are the most directly beneficial type of comment to the creator, I can understand being fed up with non complaint comments because they make complaints easier to miss.

Win Points

It's called WinPoints in a new dialog:

@loops Could be the working title

bought αΉ€50 Win Points NO

@GazDownright It better be, it's not a very good name IMHO!

@GazDownright Could be market manipulation!

@chrisjbillington oh god i suggested it on a whim.... victory points would be better but still meh

Prize Points
bought αΉ€50 Prize Points YES

FAQ seems to already be using β€œprize points” extensively: https://docs.manifold.markets/faq

Lacking context, somebody want to help me understand?

@GazDownright There was a pull request on the Manifold GitHub repo that adds a new currency called Spice. I'm pretty sure that's part of the pivot that we're expecting will be rolled out in the next week or so.

There's some more discussion on this market: πŸ§‚What will be true about Spice, the new Manifold currency? [ADD RESPONSES] | Manifold

@TimothyJohnson5c16 I've gathered as much, but what's the story behind 'P'?

@GazDownright This was one of the UI screenshots:

I think the latest version of the code renamed it to "prize points", but it could change again before it officially launches.
