Resolution criteria
This market will resolve to the operating system (OS) that is introduced first during Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2025 keynote presentation on June 9, 2025. The keynote is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time and will be streamed live on Apple's website and YouTube channel. The first OS mentioned or demonstrated during the keynote will be considered the one introduced first. If no OS is introduced, the market will resolve to "None." If a new product is introduced before any OS, the market will resolve to "a new product introduction will happen!" Official announcements and the keynote stream will serve as the primary sources for resolution.
Background
WWDC is Apple's annual event where it unveils updates to its software platforms. In 2025, Apple is expected to introduce new versions of its operating systems, including iOS 19, iPadOS 19, macOS 16, watchOS 12, tvOS 19, and visionOS 3. There is also speculation about potential hardware announcements, such as a new Mac Pro or updates to the HomePod lineup. The order in which these OS updates are presented during the keynote can vary each year.
Considerations
While Apple typically follows a pattern in its keynote presentations, the exact order of OS introductions can change. Additionally, unexpected product announcements can alter the sequence. Traders should consider these factors when making predictions.
