The Government of Pakistan is considering placing a ban on PTI, according to the laws in Pakistan after the ban they will need to send a reference to the Supreme Court of Pakistan to either endorse or annul the ban. The supreme court has a final say in the imposition of ban on any political party.

*There is a possibility that if the military led govt fears that supreme court decision might not go in their favor, the military might intervene to impose a state of emergency or martial law.
