Did the Internet of Things as an investment sector, actually make money for its investors over a decade, as a whole, from the timeframe it started to get popular, around mid-2013, to the end of mid-2023?

This market will be resolved by the perponderance of evidence in the comments.

Just resolving to majority and the fact that people actually made a case in the comments. I wouldn't take this particular market to heavily as being exactly predictive since there were only 4 traders.

Seems like almost every major appliance, from washing machines to refrigerators to toasters, is IoT. I don't think companies would be pursuing this strategy if it didn't help them.

I think one case against might be the number of IoT devices that are loss leaders, like I just picked up an Amazon Alexa dot for $23 on cyber monday that's a very good speaker which probably costs them more than (or close) that to make, but that still makes it a good investment sector.

Do the hundreds and hundreds of smart home companies and mainstream adoption by Amazon, Google, and apple not count?

@eclair4151 yes that could count.
