Resolution criteria

This market will resolve to YES if Victor Wembanyama is seen visibly crying (defined as shedding tears, weeping, sobbing, or wiping away tears from his eyes) following the final buzzer of the deciding game of the 2026 NBA Finals.

The timeframe for this observation begins at the final buzzer of the championship-deciding game and ends at the conclusion of his post-game press conference for that game.

Verification Rules:

  • The emotional reaction must be captured on the official live broadcast (such as ABC/ESPN), official locker room/post-game coverage, or documented with video or clear photographic evidence by reputable sports media outlets.

  • If the visual evidence is ambiguous (e.g., sweat dripping from his face without accompanying indicators of crying like sobbing, sniffling, or emotional cracking of the voice) and no reputable sports journalists report that he was crying, this market will resolve to NO.

  • Both tears of joy (if the Spurs win) and tears of sadness/frustration (if the Spurs lose) will qualify for a YES resolution.

  • If the 2026 NBA Finals are not completed, this market will resolve to N/A.

Background

Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs are currently competing against the New York Knicks in the 2026 NBA Finals. Wembanyama's on-court emotions have been a frequent topic of media discussion during this postseason run. Following the Spurs' Game 7 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference Finals, Wembanyama was visibly emotional and in tears on the court.
