NO

This question resolves to YES if the CDC officially declares, by the end of 2023, the SARS-CoV-2 / COVID-19 epidemic to have entered its endemic phase in the US.

Update (11/2/2023)

This is the sort of statement I would want to see for a YES resolution. I haven't found anything comparable yet coming from the CDC:

I still can’t find anything.

I had made the same market in 2022. We are now in 2024 and the CDC still cannot bring itself to use the word ‘endemic’ in relation to COVID. So much for The Science ™! Happy new year!

So, as far as I’m concerned, the White House has already announced they will declare COVID-19 endemic when they end the public health emergency in May. Has anyone seen a release or update by the CDC echoing WH sentiment? I haven’t. I suppose they will once the PH emergency ends. If anyone catches anything let me know.

@NicoDelon I haven’t been able to find any press release, article, or webpage where the CDC uses the term ‘endemic’. While they may be treating the virus as endemic for all intents and purposes, there hasn’t been any official statement to that effect.
