NO

This question resolves to YES if the CDC officially declares, by the end of 2023, the SARS-CoV-2 / COVID-19 epidemic to have entered its endemic phase in the US.

Update (11/2/2023)

This is the sort of statement I would want to see for a YES resolution. I haven't found anything comparable yet coming from the CDC:

I still can’t find anything.

I had made the same market in 2022. We are now in 2024 and the CDC still cannot bring itself to use the word ā€˜endemic’ in relation to COVID. So much for The Science ā„¢! Happy new year!

So, as far as I’m concerned, the White House has already announced they will declare COVID-19 endemic when they end the public health emergency in May. Has anyone seen a release or update by the CDC echoing WH sentiment? I haven’t. I suppose they will once the PH emergency ends. If anyone catches anything let me know.

@NicoDelon I haven’t been able to find any press release, article, or webpage where the CDC uses the term ā€˜endemic’. While they may be treating the virus as endemic for all intents and purposes, there hasn’t been any official statement to that effect.
