@evergreenemily I wonder how common this opinion is in Japan. Seems to be emblematic of the “Japanese devs make toys, Western devs make movies” divide. There’s no need for this to be added if you think of the game as a set of mechanics (not that that’s the only valid way of thinking about it, but it seems to be Nintendo’s philosophy most of the time).

@Gabrielle I’ve been meaning to resolve all my TotK markets after a while has elapsed for mostly spoiler reasons, but yeah, that doesn’t really apply here and the resolution seems clear.

I'm surprised anyone's buying YES at this price. You couldn't in BOTW, and for good reason - it didn't fit the game's design philosophy. There was nothing you could do in BOTW that was just a simple animation; every action affected something. I'd be surprised if they went back on that.

If you're betting on Nintendo giving in to (I'd guess mostly Western) fan's demands, you're gonna lose money.

@NcyRocks Doesn’t have to be animation only. Perhaps it lets you befriend dogs, which changes their behavior (like horses in botw)

That's a bit more plausible, but you could already do that in BOTW by feeding the dogs. No need for another action. They might still incorporate it due to the demand, but I'd still be surprised.
