Right now I have to copy/paste it, which is kinda annoying. Resolves YES if there's a keyboard shortcut, or if some simpler character combo automatically converts to it (M$ would be an obvious choice), or if I judge that it's easy enough.

@Austin Didn't know that, thanks! I feel like that could be a lot better advertised, but I don't know how... it'd also be helpful if it didn't add a space after it, since I often want to type amounts like Ṁ123, but yeah, I feel like that's easy enough.
I've gone and worded this in a way that I can't resolve it until March, but if nothing changes it'll resolve YES.
@jfjurchen Good point! Converting M$123 to Ṁ123 seems sensible though; you wouldn't even need to check for the numbers, you could just convert the 'M$'.
