What's the threshold for trendy? People talking about it more than x amount? It seems fairly likely it will be a small meme but I'll bet it'll be mostly forgotten in less than 48 hours. Is it about people wearing it? I'd bet against that too.

@MingCat Good thoughts, maybe a good way to resolve it yes is if it “peaks higher on google trends between February 1 and Dec 31 than in its Jan 2025 high”

@MikeElias That seems fair, you could even move the start of the peak window a bit closer than February 1st depending on what you mean by a trend. Also will the trend be something like "Melania's hat", the name/type of the hat, or checking for multiple things?

@MingCat I defined the resolution criteria to include any term referring to that hat. Maybe it will become known as something other than it’s currently known as, I don’t want to confine the results to terms that aren’t relevant. Also included hat designer’s name.
