Resolves Yes if I can exchange mana directly for a stuffie aka cuddly toy. Resolves No if I cannot.
Must be open to all Manifold users. Private offers to swap mana for a stuffie do not count.
Must be reasonably direct. Exchanging mana for a voucher for the Manifold store that has cuddly toys counts. Exchanging mana for Amazon credit or Ethereum does not count.
Size of stuffie doesn't affect resolution but I'm hoping for a giant arcade-style stuffie.
Resolution notes.
@Yoav 's offer was the only option at market close for me to exchange a mana for a stuffie. Although Yoav is a private individual, the offer was a public offer (here and on a public Discord). A squishmallow appears to be a stuffie. Alas the offer is not compelling for me, but that is not part of the market criteria. The offer is to all Manifold users, and I encourage people to take it up if they are interested.
Per my comment to @BenjaminCosman below:
I need to be convinced it is a real offer.
Here I am partially convinced that it is a real offer. m8500 is a steep markup for a $20 stuffy, given the alternative of donating it, but not "a billion mana". Yoav has a comment record on Manifold and is not an obvious scammer or chatbot. @sophiawisdom has the most NO shares and has not contested Yoav's offer as fake. I currently believe there is a 80% chance that this is a real offer. That is, I expect in 20% of worlds a user would transfer the mana and not get the stuffie, or it would not be as shown.
I had no advance notice of Yoav's offer, did not make any private commitments regarding how I would resolve the market, and generally did not invite this edge case. I have no shares in this market beyond the market creation fee/subsidy.
I am resolving this market to 80%.
@Yoav Does the cost include shipping/delivery and if so to what locations? Is it mana on delivery or up-front or otherwise?
I have a couple of that stuffy, and if those are sold out I have larger stuffies of various kinds, but I’m more attached to those so I would need to negotiate for good offer.
Looking at eBay for similar stuffies, I see that most merchants charge ~$5 for shipping, so I’d charge the buyer that much in dollars or mana at my conversion rate, whichever they prefer. Bay Area delivery is free, however. Mana is upfront.
@BenjaminCosman I need to be convinced it is a real offer. Perhaps because you make at least one sale or because you are endorsed by Manifold. Just saying "give me a billion mana and I'll mail you a stuffy" won't suffice.
@Yev I agree, I think it would have to be an existing design with at most a custom logo to meet this market timeline.
