No bounty left

I'm looking for a kickass software developer. If that's you or someone you know, get in contact with me.

25000 Mana if we hire you or the person you recommend (even for one day)

Perks
-Work is fun and interesting

-Opportunity for a full time offer with significant equity

-Ill happily give Manifold trading tips.

AltX is currently seeking Python software developers, particularly for full-time short-term contracting roles that could turn into full-time roles if it's a good fit.

Quantitative trading experience is desirable but not required and pay will be very competitive.

AltX is an EA-aligned cryptocurrency trading firm (vast majority of equity is currently owned by highly committed effective altruists)

Reasons to hire me:

  • I'm qualified to write Python.

  • I'll make you rich with massive leveraged bets.

  • I'm better than the other candidates that would apply here.

Reasons not to hire me:

  • I live in the US under the watchful Eye of Sauron and am unlikely to move to Panama.

  • I'll lose all your money making massive leveraged bets.

  • I'm not actually an EA.

Other people you should talk to:

are 2 of very few people on Manifold that have even minimal capacity for seeing obvious things, and could be trusted to write anything more complicated than an arbitrage bot.

Update:
We have hired 2 software developers in the past 10 days, though not due to this market. Though @DawnDrescher is one and they've been quite frankly been kicking ass.

Making a decision today on @colorednoise . It has been a super rocky time for the company though I don't want to get into much detail here.

I will say, we're pretty impressed with @colorednoise. He definitely clears the talent bar. It's more a function of exactly what he would work on, how fast we feel we can expand/manage new people and well, some outside factors regarding what we would have wanted him to work on.

What if I'm looking for a short term contracting job but unlikely to want a full time role (unless the work is really amazing)? I live in Israel and university is currently being delayed by another month every month.

Perks:

  • Python developer

  • Experienced

  • Interested in trading

  • Likely to pass interviews

Alright, we have decided not to hire anyone further at this time so i am closing the bounty.

This market did elicit @colorednoise which I am thankful for. Were it not for the short and uncertain time frame + some problems we faced with an additional contract (which would have made us more financially ready to spend more money), I think it's likely we would have hired him. Consider this a recommendation to other firms out there.

Come back in 5 years or so and you could hire me lol. Software development is hard. Best of luck!

I think we are willing to hire up to 3 people. Very happy to pay this bounty 3 times

What is this?

What is Manifold?
Manifold is the world's largest social prediction market.
Get accurate real-time odds on politics, tech, sports, and more.
Or create your own play-money betting market on any question you care about.
Are our predictions accurate?
Yes! Manifold is very well calibrated, with forecasts on average within 4 percentage points of the true probability. Our probabilities are created by users buying and selling shares of a market.
In the 2022 US midterm elections, we outperformed all other prediction market platforms and were in line with FiveThirtyEight’s performance. Many people who don't like betting still use Manifold to get reliable news.
ṀWhy use play money?
Mana (Ṁ) is the play-money currency used to bet on Manifold. It cannot be converted to cash. All users start with Ṁ1,000 for free.
Play money means it's much easier for anyone anywhere in the world to get started and try out forecasting without any risk. It also means there's more freedom to create and bet on any type of question.
