Oscar-winning director László Nemes (Son of Saul) is set to adapt Cormac McCarthy’s novel Outer Dark into a feature film. The film will star Jacob Elordi (Euphoria, Saltburn) and Lily-Rose Depp (Nosferatu, The Idol) as siblings entangled in a harrowing tale set in Depression-era Appalachia. Production is scheduled to begin in 2026, with an anticipated release in mid-2027.
This market will resolve to YES if, by 11:59 PM Eastern Time on December 31, 2027, a new Outer Dark film:
Has a confirmed theatrical release in any country, evidenced by listings on reputable platforms such as IMDb, Box Office Mojo, or official press releases.
ORIs available for streaming on a major platform accessible in the U.S., including but not limited to Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, Max, Apple TV+, or Disney+.
Any cast or director will qualify as long as a new adaptation of the novel is released by that date (any unreleased film made prior to the creation of this market does not qualify).
If neither 1 nor 2 is met by the specified date, the market will resolve to NO.
