I’ll be competing in Sacramento or Stockton on Saturday, November 2nd. I think each participant gets 2 rounds. I have been practicing a move called “triangle” and am extremely good at it due to my impressive skill and long legs.
Update: I dropped the ball on the competition sign up. I planned literally EVERHTHING around this damn competition and missed the deadline AAAAAAAA. The market is still relevant I guess but it won’t be resolved by November 2nd, unfortunately.
@Lydia How long have you been training and how many times a week? Gi or no-gi? Do you have a gameplan? And finally, do you have any top game?
@BrainAche 3 years, gi, and when I’m training I’ve been going 5x/wk.
I like to hit triangle any chance I can. Otherwise I pull guard, do a scissor sweep, and then try for a choke. I also have been surprisingly effective w buggy choke, however many purists will turn up their nose.
@JTBooth Where are you competing!! Best of luck.
I had a knee injury so took some time off over the holidays and don’t know when exactly I’ll be back for competitions sake. Now I’m on a daily yoga intensive trying to get myself back in fighting shape to renter the meat grinder
@Lydia copycat market 😁https://manifold.markets/JTBooth/will-i-win-the-open-weight-division
Injuries are so scary - I've banged myself up a little but never more than a few days off.
@aashiq Yes, it will resolve based on the results of Jiu Jitsu World League on Jan 25. I won’t be training at all in November because I’ll be out of town and probably very little in December
About three years, but on and off. However I did train nearly every day for the past two months or so
