The Game Awards is an annual awards show for video games. If The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom wins the "Game of the Year" category, resolves to YES. If otherwise, resolves to NO. Closing date subject to change depending on date of awards show, but it is always held in early December and has never been held after December 12. Question will close on the day of the show.

The Legend of Zelda franchise stands as one of the most classic in the history of video games, with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild claiming victory in 2017. @Kraalnaxx People who play a lot of games, certainly people who give a crap about game awards, mostly do not play the Switch. And for those of us who do, there aren't very many games on the Switch, so it's only used rarely. So the Switch is only really popular among a subset of people who don't play games very much, which in this context, is a niche.

As much as I love Baldur's Gate 3, it can be a buggy and frustrating mess. The story is great, and the gameplay is great when it works, but TOTK is a far more consistently enjoyable experience. TOTK is gonna be GOTY.
(it's gonna be so funny to me if I get a reputation as "Baldur's Gate's Biggest Hater" or something considering that I'd give the game something like a 90-to-95 out of 100...)
@evergreenemily I do think TOTK has the best shot out of any game, especially since Starfield's reputation has been somewhat mixed. My main note of caution is that it seems like The Game Awards likes to be "surprising", (see: It Takes Two winning GOTY in 2021) and by that metric it may seem too predictable to give BOTW the award and then its sequel six years later.
@jakgnfdaghfjkahg Your conclusion is based on a perfectly rational assessment, but your mistake is that the Game Awards marketing lizards will use the same assessment you do. They almost certainly will not, even as they pretend they do.
