Resolution criteria

The tournament takes place at Dubai's Sevens Stadium on 17-18 January 2026. The winner will be the team that finishes first overall in the tournament. Resolution will be determined by the official final standings published on World Rugby's website (https://www.svns.com/en/) or the tournament's official results page.

Background

HSBC SVNS 3 is the third tier of competition below the SVNS 2 and SVNS, sponsored by banking group HSBC. The tournament features eight men's and eight women's teams, all competing for promotion to HSBC SVNS 2. Teams are split into two pools of four: Pool A includes Colombia, Hong Kong, Samoa, and Tonga; Pool B includes Belgium, Canada, Italy, and Madagascar. The top two teams will earn promotion to SVNS 2, where the top four sides will earn promotion to the SVNS World Championship.

Considerations

Qualification for HSBC SVNS 3 was earned through regional tournaments. This is an inaugural standalone event in the newly restructured three-division SVNS format, so there is limited historical precedent for predicting outcomes.
