Resolution criteria

This market will resolve based on the final general classification standings of the 2025 Critérium du Dauphiné and the 2025 Tour de France. The outcome will be determined as follows:

  • 1: If the winner of the 2025 Tour de France finishes first in the general classification of the 2025 Critérium du Dauphiné.

  • 2: If the winner of the 2025 Tour de France finishes second in the general classification of the 2025 Critérium du Dauphiné.

  • 3: If the winner of the 2025 Tour de France finishes third in the general classification of the 2025 Critérium du Dauphiné.

  • Not on podium: If the winner of the 2025 Tour de France finishes outside the top three in the general classification of the 2025 Critérium du Dauphiné, including if they don't finish or start it.

Official results from the respective race organizers will be used to determine the outcomes.

Background

The Critérium du Dauphiné is a prestigious eight-day cycling stage race held annually in the Dauphiné region of southeastern France. It serves as a key preparatory event for the Tour de France, attracting many top contenders. The 2025 edition is scheduled from June 8 to June 15, featuring a mix of hilly and mountainous stages. The Tour de France is the most renowned Grand Tour in professional cycling, consisting of 21 stages over three weeks. The 2025 edition will commence on July 5 in Lille and conclude on July 27 in Paris. The route includes challenging mountain stages in the Pyrenees and Alps, with summit finishes on Mont Ventoux and Col de la Loze. (theguardian.com)

Historically, strong performances in the Critérium du Dauphiné have been indicative of success in the Tour de France, as both races share similar terrain and competition levels.

Considerations

While a strong performance in the Critérium du Dauphiné can signal good form, it does not guarantee success in the Tour de France. Factors such as team strategies, individual recovery, and unforeseen events can influence outcomes in both races. Additionally, some riders may choose to peak specifically for the Tour de France, using the Dauphiné primarily for training and not aiming for top results.
