Resolution Criteria

This market will resolve to YES if:

• Official Chinese government or military announcements confirm Wang Houbin has been arrested

The market will resolve as NO if:

• Wang Houbin appears in public in his official capacity

• It has not resolved YES as of January 1 2026

Note that Chinese denials of Wang's arrest will not impact resolution

Background

Wang Houbin was appointed as the commander of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Rocket Force in July 2023, replacing previous commanders who were removed amid a corruption scandal. The Rocket Force is China's strategic and nuclear missile force, a critical component of China's military.

Prior to his appointment to the Rocket Force, Wang served in the PLA Navy. His appointment came during a period when several senior Chinese military officials were being investigated or removed from their positions as part of President Xi Jinping's ongoing anti-corruption campaign within the military.
