I will include a question on my upcoming survey asking, "How would you describe the shape of the Earth?" The options are:

• Flat

• Round (spherical)

• Oblate spheroid

• Approximately an oblate spheroid with slight pear-shapedness

• Geoid

• Approximately a geoid, but with imperfections due to surface features that don't exactly match the ideal equigeopotential surface

• Dinosaur-shaped

• Hyperbolic plane

• Other

Aside from the goofy options (Flat, Dinosaur-shaped, and Hyperbolic plane) and Other, I will find the median response of the remaining options, ordered from least pedantic (spherical) to most pedantic (approximately a geoid). The least-to-most pedantic ordering is the same as the ordering of options here. If the median response is between two options, I'll resolve to both of them equally.
