 If you know any of the teams that get near the top on Product Hunt, they always wage an intense campaign by reaching out to literally everyone they know to get as many upvotes as possible.

 -" is what that's under also... Those are guidelines... Not rough and fast Terms of service. I don't see anything wrong with what James is doing. A single bounty about his roommates thing doesn't give a "spam" vibe. 

If they said, "No Manifold bounties" I would agree.

 It's not his contribution. Does it say anything about not doing that stuff for other people contributions?
