~ At creating a more popular a DnD replacement TTRPG
Specifically will Daggerheart be more popular than The MCDM RPG by the end of 2025. If either of the books is unreleased, it'll probably lose.
In this context, "more popular" will be judged arbitrarily by me. Using metrics such as copies sold, actual plays numbers, and games played across virtual tabletops.
The fan base and streams of Critical Role are powerful, but the production company is already facing early issues in Candela Obscura.
MCDM meanwhile, is smaller, but has had several successful previous projects and a 4.6 Million fundraising effort.
Resolves "Yes" if Daggerheart is more popular. "No" if The MCDM RPG is more popular.
Resolved to "Yes".
Despite my preferring Draw Steel. I don't think it ever managed to escaped it's tactical niche to break mainstream. Sales and stream numbers support this.
The final arbitrary nail in the coffin is that my local book stores carry Daggerheart, but not Draw Steel.
