There is an active debate over whether the Grand Canyon is young (<10 million years) or old (For instance, see Flowers et al., 2012, vs. Karlstrom et al., 2014). This market resolves to YES if a review of the evidence suggests the Canyon is young, and no otherwise. "Young" means that greater than 50% of the modern depth of the Canyon at -112°W was excavated in the last 10 million years.

After market close on Jan. 1, 2027 I will ask the leading LLM (or whatever is the more intelligent AI I have access to) to review the evidence and provide a fair resolution to this market. If possible, I will also have it read and evaluate all the available papers on this topic.
