Resolution criteria

This market will resolve to "Yes" if Max Verstappen and George Russell make contact during the 2025 Canadian Grand Prix. This contact does not have to result in significant damage or a driver retirement to qualify for “Yes”. If no notable contact is made, the market will resolve to “No”. The FIA race incident log and live race coverage will be considered to determine the outcome. A collision can occur at any point in the race, not just lap 1 or turn 1.

Background

The 2025 Canadian Grand Prix is scheduled for June 15, 2025, at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal. George Russell secured pole position for the race, with Max Verstappen qualifying second. (en.wikipedia.org)

In the previous Spanish Grand Prix, Verstappen and Russell were involved in a collision that resulted in a 10-second penalty for Verstappen and three penalty points on his super-licence, bringing him one point away from a race ban. (reuters.com) Despite this, Verstappen has stated he will not alter his aggressive racing style. (reuters.com)

The Circuit Gilles Villeneuve is known for its tight corners and close racing, which can increase the likelihood of on-track incidents.

Considerations

Given their recent on-track clashes and the competitive nature of both drivers, there is heightened anticipation regarding their interactions during the Canadian Grand Prix. Traders should consider Verstappen's proximity to a race ban and how this might influence his approach to the race.
