Resolution criteria
Historically, both Angel's Landing spring lottery and Arches timed entry have opened in January (Angel's Landing January 1–20, Arches on January 2). This market resolves YES if either Angel's Landing or Arches timed entry registration opens and becomes purchasable before February 1st, 2026. Resolution will be verified via:

The market resolves NO if neither permit system opens for purchase by February 1st, 2026.
Background
As of January 16, 2026, timed entry permits for Arches National Park and the spring season lottery for Angel's Landing in Zion have not been released, despite historically opening in January. The Angel's Landing program is reviewed annually to make adjustments as needed. Arches National Park stated they do not have final information about timed entry for 2026, which is why the calendar is grayed out on Recreation.gov.
Considerations
Speculation about the delay includes potential impacts from the 2025 government shutdown and a late-2025 meeting between Utah officials and Department of Interior staff that discussed eliminating Arches' timed entry system and avoiding timed entry implementation at Zion.
