EARLY BECAUSE NEXT WEEK I WILL HAVE 3 DISTINCT DAYS OF DRIVING 5+ HOURS
I will resolve any answers to these questions as soon as I see the xkcd posted for the given day and have time to resolve. If it ever appears that the post was skipped (I don’t see anything before the next usual post day) I will resolve all answers to N/A, with the exception of any questions regarding whether or not the xkcd is posted late. If the answer is ambiguous, I will wait to see thoughts posted on explain xkcd, and will either resolve or conclude N/A by the next regular post day based on the possible consensus there.
Others are free to add options. I will delete duplicates and ask regarding resolution criteria for potentially vague options, or questions that I am not sure how to resolve. If you believe that there is potentially a vague option, feel free to comment so we can address the issue as early as possible.
I may bet in this market.
@BrunoParga I’m sorry that you aren’t a fan, but I enjoy making the market, and there’s a sizeable enough chunk of others who enjoy it that they are able to support the market creation cost.
@BrunoParga How about this? If you can get 8 people (I usually have at minimum 16 traders on my markets) who have bet on at least 5 of these markets (to make sure they are people who regularly bet on my market) to like your initial spamming comment or reach out to me in some way to express the same concern, I will transition to a market style that covers a week’s worth of xkcd’s at a time. Let’s say that you have one week.
I agree the spamming issue can be annoying, but I would like to be convinced this is something people who trade on my markets want.
@EBurk this is an externalities/tragedy of the commons issue. I appreciate your openness to change, but, like the majority of people who see your markets even though they're not really of interest, it's still not rational for me to spend time on meeting your (reasonable) condition to change. This is why we're at this point to begin with.
@BrunoParga That’s fair, and I like that we have people calling out the issue.
That being said, if I see support from people betting on my market to switch to a less frequent style, even if it’s less than I originally said, I’ll probably still switch. Like I said, I make this market for fun, and if I can at the same time decrease the spamming issue, I’d really be happy to change.
@BrunoParga It's not clear to me what the negative effect this has on you is? I like regular short-term markets, they give me an opportunity to make a fast turnaround.
