Resolution criteria
Duke will be considered the NCAA tournament winner if they defeat Florida in the national championship game on Monday, April 7 in San Antonio. Resolution will be determined by the official NCAA tournament bracket and final game results published on NCAA.com.
Background
Duke earned the overall No. 1-seed in the East Region of the 2026 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament. Duke's record improved to 30-2 after winning the ACC Tournament quarterfinals, and Duke defeated No. 10 Virginia, 74-70, on March 14, securing the Blue Devils' 24th ACC Tournament title. Duke is 127-42 (.751) all-time in the NCAA Tournament, marking the best winning percentage in tournament history by a team with a minimum of 20 games played. For the second year in a row, Duke is the most popular team to win the national championship in the Men's Bracket Challenge Game.
Considerations
Duke's starting point guard Caleb Foster and starting center Patrick Ngongba are both sidelined with foot injuries, with Ngongba's status for the second-round game against TCU murky at best and Foster's injury more significant. Duke entered the NCAA tournament with injury concerns and played shorthanded against Siena.
