Will the Northern White Rhinoceros (Ceratotherium simum cottoni) become Extinct by 2050?
62%
chance

The Northern White Rhinoceros is one of two subspecies of the White Rhinoceros. Only two living individuals—both female—remain, residing at the Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Kenya. While they cannot reproduce naturally, ongoing scientific efforts, such as in vitro fertilization, aim to preserve the subspecies.

This market will resolve YES if the Northern White Rhinoceros is officially classified as Extinct by the IUCN by 2050 or earlier. If an official IUCN classification is missing, but there is strong evidence by 2050, or earlier, that the subspecies is extinct, the market will also resolve YES.

The market will resolve NO if at least one living Northern White Rhinoceros remains in 2050. This will be determined based on publicly available information.
