Try taking valerian root

Doing scary things like snowboarding or mountainbiking helps me relieve stress in day-to-day life. It makes it easier for the brain when to be alert and when to relax

There is evidence that lavender might help with anxiety.

As a herbal supplement the side effects shouldn't be that bad.

I’m reluctant to bet in this market since I don’t understand how answers will be resolved, but I want to voice support for this option.

Do NOT prepare for events that make you nervous

This may seem counterintuitive but I found that if you prepare too much you can attribute "success" to your preparation rather than the event being inherently "survivable" and not worth worrying about.

Could you give me a little more context for nervous/nervousness? Is it brought on by anything in particular? Is it a constant state? What does it feel like in your body? What have you tried so far? I'd love to help, and these terms mean different things to different people. 🧡

I used to get nervous in certain situations, and I found that the following helped me almost get rid of the nervousness completely that I sometimes feel it was a different person who had this problem:

  1. Be kind to yourself. Always talk to yourself the same way you would talk to a friend.

  2. Get professional support by doing therapy (betterhelp.com) is great imo

  3. Identify situations/cues that make you nervous (e.g. first dates or presenting infront of a lot of people)

  4. Try not to challenge yourself too much. If possible take small steps. Not always possible and depends on the triggers.

  5. Exhaust your body right before the event by doing high-intensity exercise. Ideally, group fitness where you can’t stop.

  6. Write your thoughts before the event describing in detail and total honesty what makes you nervous.

  7. Kill it or do your best at the event.

  8. Write down how it went exactly without exaggerating

  9. Repeat :))))
