Will I fix my sleep/awake schedule this week?
Resolves to "Yes" if I feel like it's been fixed [meaning something like 'I naturally want to be awake during 'normal people hours, and I am ending the week on a ≥ 2 consecutive day streak of actually succeeding in doing so']. For the last week or so, I've been doing the bulk of my sleeping mid-day, and staying up most of the night. I will only buy yes shares in this market, although I may sell the yes shares if things seem to be going poorly. June 22: I've been awake since who-knows-what-time-AM today and haven't fallen asleep yet. I give it a 25% probability I stay awake to 8pm. Jun 24, 8:42am: I think I slept from 8am to >11pm on the 23rd. June 24: I think I slept from 4-7ish pm, then slept some more. Awake at midnight. I have work on the 25th at 4pm! So I at least (provided I don't miss it) will be awake 4-10pm. Pulled almost an all-nighter, and then went to work, and then fell asleep at 2am, waking up at 6-7am and went to church. Jun 28, 1:23pm: I would personally consider this 96% of a yes (since waking up early is probably good for me in the long run and I don't have a ton going on right now), but because I think most people would consider sleeping from 4pm-4am to be dysfunctional, I will be resolving to no.
Have you read the SSC melatonin essay? I take 0.3mg of 6 hour time release melatonin and it kicks in after 4 hours, works reasonably well. Haven't done a comparison to non-time-release though. Also modafinil in the morning occasionally if I've been up all night, caffeine doesn't work for me. https://slatestarcodex.com/2018/07/10/melatonin-much-more-than-you-wanted-to-know/ https://slatestarcodex.com/2018/07/12/did-a-melatonin-patent-inspire-current-dose-confusion/ https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CDABRUW?psc=1
