In a seven-day period that starts before the cutoff date, there must be at least one turnstile at each station that's generally usable by normal riders on a continuous basis.

Summer has come and gone without an anticipated announcement by PATH officials about when riders will see a new fare system that would let them pay by tapping a credit, debit card or Smartphone on a reader.

“Our team is meeting regularly with Cubic, the firm designing the software and implementing the program,” Tom Pietrykoski, a Port Authority spokesman, told NJ Advance Media last week. He did not comment on why the system didn’t roll out over the summer. “We expect to launch a pilot later this year, with full implementation to follow.”
