In 2020, the largest wildfire in state history, the August Complex fire, burned 1,032,648 acres. The second largest wildfire, the Dixie fire, burned 963,309 acres in 2021.

This question resolves at the end of the year based on Cal Fire reports. If two wildfires combine, Cal Fire treats them as a single event. This question will do so as well.
