At Google I/O this year we introduced a number of AI-first experiments in development, including Project Tailwind — a new kind of notebook designed to help people learn faster.

Today we’re beginning to roll out Project Tailwind with its new name: NotebookLM, an experimental offering from Google Labs. It’s our endeavor to reimagine what notetaking software might look like if you designed it from scratch knowing that you would have a powerful language model at its core: hence the LM. It will be immediately available to a small group of users in the U.S. as we continue to refine the product and make it more helpful.

I will resolve this based on whether NotebookLM appears on the Killedbygoogle site OR has closed to any additional user signups on 11:59PM on December 31, 2024.

Resolves YES if NotebookLM appears on Killedbygoogle.

Resolves YES if NotebookLM permanently closes to new user signups.

Resolves NO if all or most of the features of NotebookLM are merged into another Google product (for example, into Google Drive) AND user data in NotebookLM is automatically migrated to the new product AND the NotebookLM has posted a notice that it will shut down.

Resolves NO if NotebookLM is still a product by Google on the last second of December 31, 2024 that new users can sign up to, even if it exists under a different name or URL.
