Lincoln-Douglas debate is a format of high school debate practiced in the United States. The topic of debate is rotated on a 2-month basis.

The above two topics constitute the potential resolutions for the National Speech & Debate Association (NSDA) September-October cycle. The final topic will be chosen by the simple majority vote of students and coaches with a registered and paid NSDA account, and the result will be released on August 1, 2025.

Traditional debaters and coaches, which make up 70-80% of the Lincoln-Douglas debate community, weakly tend to prefer topics oriented toward traditional philosophical matters. Circuit debaters, which make up 20-30% of the community, weakly tend to prefer topics oriented toward big-stick issues, but possess somewhat greater influence over the voting process, as they are moderately overrepresented in engagement metrics like topic voting.
