Resolution criteria

The NBA MVP is an annual award given to the best performing player of the regular season. The 2026-27 MVP will be determined by a panel of sportswriters and broadcasters throughout the United States and Canada, with each member casting a vote for first to fifth place selections. The winner is the player with the highest cumulative points from these votes.

To be eligible, players must appear in at least 65 games, with credit requiring at least 20 minutes played per game, though two appearances of 15-19 minutes can count toward the 65-game minimum.
