Giving a resolve date of 12/31/24, but will resolve when we are provided with confirmation of storm surge by
https://www.usgs.gov/news/national-news-release/usgs-deploys-sensors-along-floridas-gulf-coast-measure-impacts-hurricane. NOAA AND NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER put out Tropical Cyclone storm surge reports based on sensors used by the US GEological Survey
From a sweepstakes perspective the criteria of this market aren't ideal as they state a specific resolution date but not how the market would be resolved on that date if the info from the source isn't out.
I've resolved it no though as the specified resolution date has passed and normally we resolve on best available data in markets where it says it will resolve anyway on that date.
@DanielHeinz @mods High water mark from their GIS system is showing 11.21 feet, I believe this should resolve NO.

@DanielHeinz The description suggests that resolution will wait for the official NHC tropical cyclone report, which is not yet out. They are still determining the official values “in the coming weeks” as of 10/10.
@mods could the status of this market be clarified? Should it be resolved like the mana market was to no? Will it be extended to wait for the NWS report to come out?
@OracleAtWiFi Same comment as in other hurricane market:
Mods don't resolve or clarify sweepstakes markets (the exception being that a couple have the power to resolve completely unambiguous ones). For this, ask @SirSalty
FYI I've pinged him on the discord so hopefully we get clarity here and on the other market soon
Powell was able to address the numbers in both Collier and Lee counties.
She said the coastal tide gauge stations at Naples and Fort Myers reached major flood stage and the peak surge did surpass levels seen during Helene:
5.08 feet at Naples (Helene peaked at 4.02 feet)
5.26 feet at Ft Myers (Helene peaked at 5.12 feet; the record here is 7.3 feet)

But of course other places could have seen higher
