Riot Games announced that they were in the early stages of making an MMORPG set in the League of Legends universe at the start of 2020. News since then has been slow and scarce. MMORPGs notoriously take a long time and many resources to develop, and many are cancelled before their full release.

Riot Games MMORPG: Refers to any Riot Games game widely considered an MMORPG set in the League of Legends universe. Does not include any other MMO game (such as the rumored Valorant MMOFPS).

Open beta: Anybody who wishes to play the game is able to play it, including if it only releases in a certain region.
