Citing https://ourworldindata.org/explorers/monkeypox?tab=table&time=2022-05-24..latest&facet=none&Metric=Confirmed+cases&Frequency=Cumulative&Relative+to+population=false&country=~OWID_WRL, which, to be fair, does not actually say that at all... https://www.reuters.com/world/who-reports-two-new-monkeypox-deaths-2022-07-07/ claims the WHO official count is 3, but also says "Since the beginning of 2022, there have been at least 73 monkeypox deaths in Africa, CDC data showed."
